Finland’s largest and oldest attraction that presents prehistory diversely in an authentic excavation site in Summassaari, Saarijärvi. It has already operated over 30 years. You can see utensils and dwellings related to the Stone Age living and hunting culture from all over the world, part of them have been placed along a so-called trap path. In addition to that there is a separate Ancient path, which follows a hunting pit system consisting of over 60 pits. The area also includes Children’s Stone Age Village where children can try prehistoric tasks with utensils that have been made to their scale and in surroundings that have been made in their scale. Supervised activities available upon reservation. The Saarijärvi Museum is responsible for the archaeological content.
The café has a diverse gift and souvenir shop. Entrance fee: adults/children (4-12 y.) 9/7 €, pensioners 7 €, family ticket 25 € (max. 5 people), groups 8 € (guide 50 €). In other times as agreed. School package 9 €/pupil.
