Our most signifigant cultural sites are the Stone Age Village, Finland’s oldest known settlement, and the Gentry Home Museum, which housed the poet Runeberg during his stay in Saarijärvi. Information on these sites and other historically interesting sites is provided by the Saarijärvi Museum and cultural services. The locality has several amateur theaters, music activities, art education and artists’ associations. Come and find yours!
